The Second First Committee Hearings: Transmission, Death, Technology were held at the Cubitt Gallery, London, on November 16th 2002. In a crowded Hearings camera designed by Laura Hopkins, a range of practitioners and theorists with special knowledge and expertise in the fields of sound, wireless electronic communication, cryptography and broadcasting were examined by a delegation of the INS's First Committee. Their testimony was recorded and is currently being analysed by the INS's Communications and Encoding Group as the INS begins configuring its own radio broadcasting unit, which will begin transmitting from London's Institute of Contemporary Art in July 2003. Full transcripts of the Hearings are available above.
