As guests of the DasArts Foundation, Amsterdam, between the first and the ninth of October, 2001, the INS, in accordance with Paragraph Four, Footnote One of its First Manifesto, set out to reconstruct and analyse the attempted assassination, on the evening of the twenty-seventh of May, 1998, of the Dutch gangster Geert Roos, which resulted in the death of Roos’s bodyguard.

The artist Dan Bodner, who was by chance standing several feet away with a friend when the shootout started, turned and ran into an alleyway; his friend, looking back towards the shootout, fell over Bodner’s bike. In the alleyway, Bodner found himself trapped with one of the gangsters, who was standing at the head of the alleyway shooting out.

Certain sequences from the event were restaged, and certain moments were isolated, extracted and repeated. These were performed first on a stage surrounded on all sides by fifty-centimetre grid squares, then in a wind tunnel.
